Christmas 2008

We have had a pretty eventful week! It started with Piper's Birthday party on Sunday the 21st and her birthday on the 22nd. We went out to eat with my Grandpa on her birthday to celebrate her birthday and Christmas.

Next, was Christmas Eve where we took off for Austin in the early afternoon to celebrate with Ben's Dad's side of the family. We also went to church in Austin where my Dad's cousin is the priest at the Catholic church there. The Christmas service was very nice and very packed! We then went back to Grandma Srps' to open presents and play the much anticipated table game. We finally arrived home about midnight and put the kids in bed. Then, Ben and I prepared some things for Christmas day and ended up going to bed about 1:00.

Christmas Day we had at our house for the third year now. It is nice having it at our house so we don't have to drag the kids all over. We had my side over and also Ben's mom side. It was nice to see Grandma Cummins since she only gets back here a few times a year. Beckett had some nice bonding time with her. We ate, ate, and ate again. I think everyone was sick of food by the time the day was done. We also played the table game again and Ashley got to finally experience that. Then when everyone left we played Taboo with Caleb and Ashley and went to bed.

Our last Christmas outing was on Saturday at my mom's house. We decided to do that because the kids get so overwhelmed with presents that we thought we would give them a little break before we opened the gifts from her. The kids had fun and Beckett loved opening presents and chewing on the wrapping paper. He didn't care for the clothes too much though(typical boy.)

Now we are looking forward to the New Year and a happy and healthy 2009!

Updating

I thought I better try to update the blog, since I haven't written anything in over two months! Anyway our life has been very busy. Laney just turned 6 on the 28th of October and Beckett just had his 4 month checkup. He is growing so fast. He was 90% for height and 65% for weight at his checkup. The doctor said he looks great!

We finally hooked up with Ben's cousins and their new babes this last weekend. His cousin Jenna has a baby that was born four days before Beckett, and his cousin Tate has a baby girl(Ava) who is two months. It was soo fun to see them interact. I can't wait to watch them grow. It was very fun to compare Beckett and Lincoln because they look kind of alike and are almost exactly the same size. You can definitely tell they are related.

I will put new pics on the blog as soon as my computer cooperates!

Beckett's Two Month Checkup

Beckett had his two month checkup today. He weighs 11 lbs 10 oz which is the 50% for his weight. He is at the 50% for his head and 85% for his height. Maybe we will have a long and lean one on our hands. We will see. The worst part of the appt. was that he had to get three shots. He did a good job though. Here is a picture of the little man that I took today.

Three Bears Resort

Last weekend we went on a mini vacation to the Three Bears Resort in Warrens Wisconsin. It is the new resort next to Jellystone Park where we camped when I was little. It was a blast! The resort was set up really nice for the girls to swim, and they were both able to go down all the slides. Beckett even got a little taste of the water. We put him in for about five minutes until he got too cold.(I had to get at least one picture this summer with his swimming suit on!) We are already talking about going back again. We found some four wheeling trails about 6 miles down the road, so we thought next time it would be fun to take a group with the four wheelers.

Lanesboro

A couple weeks ago we went to Lanesboro for the day to visit Ben's Uncle Mike and his Aunt Dianne. We had never been to Lanesboro before, but we all enjoyed it. The girls had so much fun in the river and we walked downtown and browsed in the little shops. Here a few photos from the day.

Softball, Softball and more Softball!

Here is a picture of Ben's softball team. All of the weeknights and weekends of playing finally paid off. They made it to State! State will be held the weekend of the 16th and 17th in Austin. We are excited that they are playing in Austin since Ben has a lot of relatives that live there. We can get some visiting done while we are there. Good Luck Guys!
